FitnessFest Conference & Expo was founded in 1996 by Janice Jaicks, a passionate fitness educator who saw a need for hands-on, in-person learning opportunities for fitness professionals. What began as a small local event in Arizona quickly grew into a nationally recognized conference known for its welcoming community and high-quality education. With roots in aquatic fitness and a mission to uplift instructors and trainers, Janice created a space where professionals could earn continuing education credits, gain practical skills, and build lasting relationships. Over the years, FitnessFest has expanded to include diverse formats, including virtual events, but has always stayed true to its mission: to inspire, educate, and connect the people who move others.
Janice Jaicks
Janice Jaicks is a lifelong entrepreneur, educator, and motivator who turned her passion into purpose—and then into thriving businesses.
In 1985, Janice discovered her calling: teaching, training, and uplifting others through fitness and water safety. Since then, she has taught aqua fitness to adults and swimming to children, becoming one of the most trusted and sought-after instructors in Arizona’s Valley of the Sun. Her genuine, energetic, and motivating presence has made a lasting impact on thousands.
But Janice didn’t stop at teaching—she built businesses from her passion. In 1997, she launched FitnessFest Conference & Expo, a nationally recognized event that brings continuing education and the latest trends to fitness professionals. Her second venture, F.E.S.T. (Fitness Event Strategy Team), has successfully planned and executed nearly 100 wellness events for Native American communities, corporate clients, and her own specialized aqua fitness certification programs.
Janice is also the founder of Desert Swim School, a trusted swim program with a team of certified instructors dedicated to teaching water safety and skills to children.
With over three decades of business leadership and a heart for helping others, Janice now channels her experience into coaching. Through JaniceJaicks.com, she works with aspiring entrepreneurs and wellness professionals to help them turn their passions into purpose-driven businesses—just as she did.
