100,000,000 Americans are affected by at least 1 neurological disorder (e.g., stroke, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s). One of the most beneficial activities for these populations is movement. Yet, many fitness professionals feel nervous or uncomfortable working with them because they, rightly, worry about causing more harm. In this workshop, I draw from my experience of 2 decades as a neuroscientist, clinical researcher, and exercise instructor to discuss what are the most common neurological disorders, how they manifest in the body and brain, and most importantly practical and functional tips for working with these populations in ways that provide the most benefit while reducing the risk of injury. After this workshop, you will feel more comfortable aiding and helping millions more Americans regain what was lost to them.

BRAIN GAMES FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE
